The adventure of learning to dive as well as staying out on the reef for 3 days and 2 nights on one of our premium live-aboard vessels is quite unique. Your course includes 9 dives on some of the best dive sites the Outer Great Barrier Reef has to offer, as well as plenty of time to snorkel, relax and enjoy the reef experience. All this makes this course unmatched for experience and value. Your 5 Day PADI Learn to Dive Course is broken down into two components. The first two days of your course are spent at our modern training centre learning the theory and practical skills of scuba diving. The next 3 days and 2 nights are spent living onboard on one of our premium liveaboard dive vessels. You will have the opportunity to participate in 9 dives on a variety of our 16 exclusive dive sites on the outer Great Barrier Reef. Your first 4 dives will complete your open water certification and then as a certified diver, you are able to undertake up to 5 more recreational or pleasure dives. One of these dives is a guided night dive. These extra dives will be a highlight of your course and truly memorable experience.

What to Expect
What to ExpectDay 1: Academic and pool training At 08:00 we give you a complimentary hotel transfer service available from your Cairns and Northern Beaches accommodations as far as Palm Cove. At 08:30, you are required to register at the Pro Dive training centre on 116 Spence Street. At precisely 08:45, your academic training would begin in one of our classrooms at the training centre. By 12:30 you have a lunch break and the pool training begins at 13:30. By 17:30, when your training ends for the day you get a complimentary hotel transfer. Day 2: Academic and Pool Training On this day you get the complimentary hotel transfer service a little earlier at 07:30, available from your Cairns City and Northern Beaches accommodations. Again the service is available as far as Palm Cove. By 08:30, you begin with pool training. At 12:30, you are required to visit the Pro Dive retail shop to get the dive equipments and manual. Have your lunch break at 13:00. At about 14:00, the academic training begins in one of the classrooms followed by a final exam. At 17:45, you can get the complimentary hotel transfer service to your accommodations like the previous day or get a transfer to Reef Teach for a Marine Biology presentation (optional). Please note that there are no transfers provided after Reef Teach. At Reef Teach, a 2.5 hrs marine biology presentation will be conducted about the reef and fish you will meet, which comes with an additional cost, and is optional for you. Day 3: Diving the Outer Great Barrier Reef By 05:45, you will get a complimentary hotel transfer available from accommodations at Cairns City and Northern Beaches. At 06:15, you should check in at Pro Dive retail shop, located at the corner of Shields and Grafton Streets. Get any dive equipments that you might have missed out the previous day or in case you have not got your dive equipments yet. Depart Cairns at 07:00 for 3 days and 2 nights of fantastic diving and snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef. A light breakfast is served onboard. At 11:30, you have your first training dive in the ocean. Our expert trainers would guide you all along, so just follow their instructions and you will love your first diving experience. By 12:45, lunch is served. Enjoy a hearty soup with an array of fresh salads, cold meats and bread rolls. Relax for some time before embarking on your second training dive at 14:30. The dinner is served at 18:00. The menu changes on each trip however it will be wholesome, hot and of course lots of it. Then it is time to relax. Day 4: Another day of great diving The day begins with the third training dive before breakfast at 07:00. This will be the deepest training dive of your certification. You will surely be thrilled by the experience. At 08:00, enjoy a hearty breakfast of cereal, fresh fruit, bacon and eggs as well as toast and spreads. After breakfast and some relaxation, take the fourth and final training dive at approximately 10:30. When it is 12:00, we serve you hot pasta with a variety of fresh salads for lunch. Post lunch you will take your first pleasure dive after getting your diver certification. It is dinner time by 18:00. Enjoy the hot, wholesome food as much as you need. After dinner, it is another great experience in the form of a guided night dive at 19:00. Day 5: More diving and return to Cairns At 06:30, you will have an early morning dive, the first dive of the day. After that, a hot breakfast accompanied with fresh fruit salad, cereals and toast will be served at 07:30. By 09:00, after breakfast, the vessel makes its last site of the trip, where you will do your second dive of the day. At 11:00, it is your last dive of the trip. When you surface freshly made sandwiches are served as the vessel heads home. At the end of the trip you get the complimentary transfers to your accommodations at Cairns City and Northern Beaches at 16:00. You may join fellow passengers and crew at a local restaurant for a farewell dinner if you wish at 19:30.
What to bring: Please bring a travel voucher and/or course fees, your dive medical if required, swimwear and a towel. Conditions: The minimum age to learn to dive in Queensland is 12. There is no maximum age. It is a dive course requirement that you be able to swim 200 metres or snorkel 300 metres and tread water/float for 10 minutes. We recommend that you do not fly within 24 hours of diving. This means that the earliest you should fly is 12 pm (midday) on the day after your trip concludes. Restrictions: Some medical conditions may prevent you from diving. One needs to consult a medical practitioner, preferably a diving medicine specialist, and obtain a dive medical certificate stating fitness for undertaking recreational diver training. We recommend that you do not fly within 24 hours of diving. Not included: Lunches on 2 days at the training centre.
