The Murray River is Australia’s longest river and the third longest navigable river in the world, after the Amazon and the Nile. It sustains not only a great diversity in flora and fauna and the largest River Red Gum Forest in the world, but also many communities in three states of Australia – New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia.
The Murray quietens the senses and brings a stillness that is peaceful and tranquil. The mallee vegetation, wetlands, billabongs and waterways of the region create a unique and important habitat for many of Australia’s vulnerable species including the malleefowl, bush stone-curlew and southern bell frog.
Many of Australia’s favourite animals can be spotted — including kangaroos, koalas and the very shy, cute and non-cuddly echidna. It’s a bird watcher’s paradise so bring your binoculars — or simply out on the balcony and watch the pelicans glide by.

We will move the booking to a suitable date or refund 100% if your cancellation is due to COVID restrictions.
Due to the SA Government’s revised Covid rules, particularly for accommodation and tours, we require our guests to be vaccinated.
The reason for this is that guests who are not vaccinated, put our business at risk of lockdown and potential closure as quarantine rules are more strict for those who are not vaccinated. This also impacts on our staff and their potential exposure to COVID 19.
Please email and let us know the vaccination status of all guests staying and where you/they will be travelling from.
You will be required to show your proof of vaccination on arrival at The Frames.
The Frames private and exclusive experiences including, The Sunset Gondola Cruise, Wetlands and Wildlife Safari, Flavour Safari and Calperum Eco Cultural Tour are all subject to availability. As these are private tours for guests, bookings are essential and maybe subject to change. The Sunset Gondola Cruise, Wetlands and Wildlife Safari and Calperum Eco Cultural Tour are also subject to weather permitting.
The Frames private chef is subject to availability. First booking receives priority whilst everything will be done to accommodate multiple bookings.
The Frames we will endeavour to accommodate any special food requirements as possible. Please provide 2-3 weeks notification of these requirements prior to arrival date.
All accommodation is non-smoking, smoking outside the building is permitted.
We do not accept pets.
If there is evidence of cigarette smoking inside, areas left in an un-hygienic condition or damaged furniture and fixtures; a fee will be charged direct to the guest.
Minor breakages should be reported to the Resident Manager upon check-out.
If a booking is cancelled between 30 days and 15 days prior to arrival, 50% of the total cost of the booking will be charged. If a booking is cancelled 14 days or less prior to arrival, 100% of the total cost of the booking will be charged. No refund can be given in the event of non-arrival, any unused services or unused nights due to flight and/or weather disruption. We recommend you protect yourself with travel insurance.
Cancellations or amendments are to be made by notifying us.
We are predominantly an adult only retreat; exceptions may apply upon request only.
