After settling in, savour your first meal – a regionally-inspired dinner paired with all-inclusive fine wines and beverages.  After dinner, join fellow guests for a late night drink or head back to your cabin for your first night onboard.

Day 2: Broken Hill, Barossa Valley And Adelaide Surrounds

You arrive in the ‘Silver City’ of Broken Hill as the day begins, where you embark on a morning of Off Train Excursions to discover the mining history and artistic culture of this unique town where the streets are wide and there’s a pub on every corner.  Lunch is served onboard as the Indian Pacific enters the southern tip of the spectacular and ancient Flinders Ranges. Arriving in the city of Adelaide in the afternoon, you have the choice of a tour of the city, a visit to the world famous Barossa Valley or McLaren Vale wine regions (seasonal), or a trip to the beautiful Adelaide Hills featuring the culinary delights of Hahndorf.

Day 3: Nullarbor Plain

You’ll awake to the seemingly endless expanse of the Nullarbor Plain. Breakfast is served as you travel along the longest stretch of straight railway track in the world. This evening, your sense of wonder will be ignited as you enjoy the tranquillity of dinner under the brilliant desert stars in the remote and beautiful Rawlinna (seasonal).

Day 4: Perth

Breakfast is served as you glide through the mild skies and cool green vales of the Avon Valley on your way to Perth, arriving after an onboard lunch. You’ll then make your way to the Mantra on Murray and enjoy your night at your own leisure.

Day 5: Perth, Fremantle & Swan River Cruise

You’ll meet with your tour at approximately 8am and spend the morning taking in all major attractions of the revitalised Perth CBD, taking in all major attractions including the Western Australia Cricket Ground (WACA) and Optus Stadium by coach. Then on to Kings Park Botanical Gardens, where you have the opportunity to view wildflowers or take in the stunning views from the war memorial looking back over the city skyline. Continue through the affluent Western Suburbs of Perth, known as Millionaires’ Row before reaching Cottesloe Beach where the Indian Ocean sparkles. Travel on into historic Fremantle, viewing the impressive facades of this heritage listed city including a brief stop. Enjoy a relaxing Swan River cruise back to Perth returning to Barrack Street Jetty Perth at approximately 2:15pm. Enjoy your afternoon and night at your leisure.

Day 6: Margaret River, Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse & Busselton Jetty

We travel south from Perth driving through farmland with grazing cattle and passing by coastal towns. Arriving at Busselton, known as the gateway to the Margaret River Region we stop for morning tea (own expense) at the iconic Busselton Jetty, the longest timber jetty in the southern hemisphere. Driving into the heart of the region we head to one of Margaret River’s oldest breweries for a gourmet platter lunch of local produce, with complimentary beer and cider tastings.
Following lunch we continue south through the forest to an internationally renowned winery to taste some of their best award winning wines, whilst gaining some industry insight on wine production with the opportunity to purchase. Next it’s on to Mammoth Cave for a guided tour through this gothic cave with vast chambers that reveal fascinating information on the regions flora and fauna. Continuing south, through the Boranup Forest of enormous Karri Trees we reach the most fascinating part of the region Augusta. Here at Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse, marvel at the dividing point between the Southern and Indian Oceans, a rare phenomenon to view the meetings of the two Oceans.
Then we head North up to the township of Margaret River for a brief stop to stroll the main street. After a long but fantastic day giving you a full taste of this wonderful region, it’s back to Perth with an en route comfort stop arriving at approximately 8:30pm.

Day 7: Pinnacles Desert, New Norcia & Wildflowers

Travelling through the Swan Valley, we arrive at New Norcia, home to Australia’s only Benedictine Abbey. A little piece of Spain comes alive in this town, full of history, art and architecture.
Hear the local history before viewing the chapel and museum artefacts gifted to the monastery by Popes and Royalty of Spain. Visit the famous Benedictine Community with a guided tour of the town and main sites including the museum and art gallery where you will find extraordinary artefacts dating back to when New Norcia was an Aboriginal mission.
Next we move on to the Abbey Church; home to one of only two large Moser organs, originally crafted in Germany. This is followed by a visit to St Gertrude’s College, a grand gothic style building which was originally built as a girls boarding school and opened in 1908. We then visit a produce shop selling olive oil, fruit, wine, New Norcia nut cake and breads, before enjoying a delicious lunch.
We continue on for an easy paced walk through the mystical Pinnacles Desert and see the Pinnacles from the lookout over the park. If time permits make a visit to the Pinnacles Desert Discovery Centre.

Indian Pacific

With its bold wedge-tailed eagle emblem symbolising the scope, range and significance of each epic journey, the Indian Pacific traverses mountain ranges, passes through arid deserts and goldfields, through rocky valleys and desert savannahs on its transcontinental crossings.

Stepping aboard the mighty train, you’ll feel a great sense of anticipation as this unforgettable Australian adventure begins to unfold. Whether you’re journeying from the Indian Ocean to the Pacific or the other way round, you’ll be making your way across the longest stretch of straight railway track in the world.

When 10,000 people lined the East Perth Terminal in 1970 to herald the first unbroken rail journey across the country – a new, seamless connection between the Indian and Pacific Oceans – an historic Australian milestone was achieved and the Indian Pacific took its name from the coasts it joined.

This incredible 4352 kilometre crossing is one of the world’s great rail journeys. An adventure of contrasts, it encompasses the towering majesty of the Blue Mountains to the barren expanse of the Nullarbor, and every goldmine, ghost town and grapevine in between. From inside and outside your cabin, you’ll be captivated by the vast beauty of this magnificent country.

Stylishly appointed, spacious suites complemented by discreet, personalised service and world-class food and wine make this a very special travel experience. Platinum guests enjoy premium extras like a full-size en suite, expansive window views from both sides of the train, and exclusive use of the Platinum Club carriage. You’ll also notice the Bollinger champagne, Australian Appelles Apothecary toiletries, Haigh’s chocolates, a nightcap at turndown, luxuriously soft linen, and more … it’s this attention to detail that you’ll recall long after your journey’s end. By day, your cabin is configured as a private lounge with deluxe seating, a table and two ottomans. By night, you’ll enjoy a deep, comfortable sleep as the lounges convert into a comfortable bedroom with either a double or twin beds.

It’s the perfect place to relax and take in the amazing views passing by your panoramic windows but, for a more social experience, head to the Platinum Club. Thoughtfully appointed to embody the spirit of the train’s Australian heritage, the décor features quartzite tabletops, timber flooring, brass fittings and leather banquette lounge seating in tones of ash, moss and sepia.
