Garden Retreat


Overlooking tropical gardens through floor-to-ceiling windows, the Garden Retreat offers king or twin bedding and king single daybed for easy lounging. Outdoors, a generous deck with seating and hammock invite relaxing in the cool breeze. An ensuite bathroom with shower and deep spa bath is perfect for soaking in the views.





The generously sized Treehouse Retreat offers an open plan king bedroom and lounge including a king single daybed, while an outdoor balcony features a range of seating options for reclining in the cool of the afternoon. The bathroom includes a double vanity and shower while glass doors open to a private deck with large bathtub and open air shower for a truly sensory bathing experience.

Set among the rainforest canopy with lofty views, the Treehouse Premium suite offers open-plan sleeping and lounge areas with king bed and two king single daybeds – ideal for families. Step outside to the expansive balcony with daybed and hammock to relax among the treetops. The bathroom features a rain shower, double vanity and generous bathtub, creating a tropical day-spa vibe.




Welcoming spectacular views of the Mossman River, the Riverhouse features an open-plan bedroom with king or twin beds and king single daybed, while a double hammock on the balcony invites dreamy retreat. The bathroom features a freestanding shower and opens to a private deck with outdoor bathtub overlooking the waters cascading below.





Generously spacious, the Billabong Suite offers a large lounge with integrated desk and adjoining king bedroom, both flowing outdoors to an extensive outdoor living area with custom-made curved lounge and hammock overlooking the Mossman River. The bathroom features a freestanding shower and opens to a private deck with open-air bathtub completing a premium rainforest bathing experience.





Setting a new benchmark for luxury in Tropical North Queensland, the Daintree Pavilion is one-of-a-kind with dramatic skillion ceilings held aloft by glass walls. Designed for privacy, two separate sleeping areas each offer an ensuite bathroom opening to an outdoor atrium with bath under the treetops. Flowing from the shared central lounge extensive decks feature multiple open-air lounging options, with a fireplace, tiered infinity pool and plunge spa floating among the cool of the forest.

These lodge-based activities are included in the tariff. The lodge also offers a complimentary daily shuttle transfer to Port Douglas. Note, some activities are shared with fellow guests and operate at scheduled times.

Guided yoga classes each morning take a gentle pace and suit all fitness and experience levels. Held in an open-air pavilion, cares slip away with the soothing sound of the Mossman River. Sessions are shared with fellow guests at a scheduled time.

Dining at Silky Oaks Lodge celebrates the bounty of local ingredients harvested in Tropical North Queensland’s rich food bowl, from seafood, nuts, chocolate, coffee and tropical fruits. These are combined with local native ingredients and the nation’s finest premium produce to offer guests an innovative, contemporary Australian menu. The Treehouse Restaurant welcomes lunch bookings from non-resident guests.

Cuisine at Silky Oaks Lodge is designed to be refreshing and light, ideal fare in tropical temperatures. Contemporary Australian in style, menus have an Asian influence and incorporate traditional Indigenous flavours. Breakfast includes à la carte menu options, while lunch is available daily in the restaurant. Guests can enjoy sunset drinks at the bar followed by an à la carte dinner showcasing fresh, local produce.




Beverages at Silky Oaks include a range of premium Australian wines with a selection from south-west Queensland’s Granite Belt, a swagger of locally crafted beers as well as the state’s iconic XXXX beer for true local flavour. Baillies 9 gin with premium mixers is on offer at Silky Oaks as at the sister lodges. A menu of locally produced small batch spirits includes the delicious Mount Uncle Distillery’s Botanic Australis gin.

Covid-19 Peace of Mind

Guests at Baillie Lodges travel with confidence, knowing flexibility is offered for change of plans if a guest or travel companion is diagnosed with Covid-19 or has been confirmed as a close contact, or government enforced travel restrictions across borders prohibit you from travelling at the time of your booking. A date change at time of notice or a travel credit will be offered for any necessary cancellations for stays up until June 30, 2022.

Whilst government regulations are still evolving, it’s possible we may only be permitted
to welcome guests who are fully vaccinated against Covid-19. To avoid any potential disappointment, we strongly recommend that you schedule your vaccinations and have had your second shot at least 14 days before travelling.

In the event that you are unable to travel due to non-compliance with Health Orders in effect at the time, it’s important to note our flexible cancellation policy would not apply and cancellations or changes to a booking, within one month will be subject to a full deposit forfeiture.

Peak Season Deposit Policy

All bookings over the Christmas / New Year period of 22 December 2022 till 3 January 2023 inclusive, must be secured with a non-refundable deposit of one night’s accommodation within 14 days of reservation.


Private vehicle transfers between Silky Oaks Lodge and Cairns Airport or nearby Port Douglas may be arranged with a preferred operator. Scenic helicopter flights from Cairns Airport to Silky Oaks’ helipad offer an aerial perspective of the region and are a spectacular start of end to a stay in the Daintree. Additional costs apply for all private road and air transfers. Bookings are best made in advance; please enquire for rates and information.

Check in/Check out

Check-in time is 2pm and check-out time is 10.30am. Where possible, flexibility with early check-in and late check-out will be provided, however, these are unable to be guaranteed. The facilities of the main lodge are available for enjoyment whilst at the property.

Child Policy

Silky Oaks Lodge welcomes children ten years and over.

Cancellation Policy

Bookings may be cancelled prior to one month from arrival without forfeiture. For cancellations within one month of arrival all monies will be forfeited. No refund can be given in the event of non-arrival, any unused services or unused nights due to flight and/or weather disruption. We recommend you protect yourself with travel insurance.

Important to know

As the lodge thrives on a convivial atmosphere, in-suite dining isn’t offered.

As the lodge is situated in a remote destination, it’s essential to advise any special dietary needs at the time of reservation. We will do our best to tailor menus accordingly whilst providing opportunity to enjoy a diverse range of premium regional produce. Should notice not be provided in advance, our chefs will endeavour to prepare suitable meals with the ingredients available. We regret we are unable to prepare meals requiring strict religious observance in the preparation.

Accommodation at Silky Oaks Lodge includes the dedicated wheelchair/mobility-accessible Garden Retreat suite which is generously sized to allow ample space to move around the room. It’s located close to the main lodge and features level ramp access to reach the central guest areas.

During a stay at Silky Oaks Lodge, guests may join a daily guided walk around the lodge grounds and wheelchair access can be arranged with advance notice. A series of self-guided walking trails is also available, however, as bush paths the terrain is uneven, undulating and steeply inclined in some places. There are no built-in handrails. Private experiences can be arranged at an additional cost, subject to availability and accessibility.
